Despite it's small size the Cusquito is a very active and energetic dogs that requires plenty of mental stimulation. Due to their wild-dog ancestry they are very adventurous and can wander off and cover great distances in surprisingly little time. They do best living indoors with their family with access to a large fenced-in yard. Appartment living is not recommended.

They are the active household's ideal pet, as they enjoy going out on long jogs and hinking; and their small size makes travelling ideal. There are no doubts your little Cusquito will love going on vacation to the beach or the mountains with you!

They have a quiet and calm nature and are always alert to their surroundings, barking only when something seems out of place as a warning, which makes them reliable little watchdogs.

Their high trainability favors their participation and good performance in many canine sports, such as agility, and obedience. Their terrier ancestry makes them very keen hunters and participating in hunting and barnhunt trials may be quite fun, for both owner and dog!
